Gnosis is the embodied knowledge of the nature and structure of reality that the Herd offers through ritual experience rather than argument. It is one of the three things the group promises the initiate, alongside a role in saving the world and a program of self-transformation. Gnosis is attained on The Rite of Ascent, where the structure of The Cosmic Tree is not taught but traversed.
