The Archangel of Mystery is the guardian angel of Mystery and the star-crossed beloved of Magnetic Rose. He is never seen and is unwilling to be seen — an elusive figure who, the scribes write, "evades to the point of madness." It was he who came to the Oracle in the fall that took her memory, and it is in his pursuit that she came to the Herd; she has sought him since, and calls to him still through her grief.
