The Crown is the summit of The Cosmic Tree, where The Calf sleeps, "locked in an eternal dream." The scribes call it "a nexus of exquisite density" — the place where the most primordial qualities of what it means to be human are concentrated before the crossing into the world to come. It is the summit toward which The Rite of Ascent is directed.
