The Gift World is the reality the Herd of God seeks to enter through The Rite of Ascent — the congregation's version of Tikkun Olam, and its answer to Compulsive Disenchantment. It is described as a fully "ensouled" reality: a form of consciousness that experiences life as enchanted and alive, in which connection, love, warmth, and the red-blooded human passions are the ordinary weather rather than rare exceptions.
The scribes compare it to an Edenic consciousness, "but better" — one in which the features that make us most human are preserved in all their complexity rather than smoothed away. The Gift World is reached, the Herd teaches, only when The Calf is woken and The Eight Angels restored, and only when the crossing is authorized not by an elite but by all of humanity.
