The Herd of God is a neo-kabbalistic New Age congregation founded by Duncan Horst to wake The Calf — humanity's first god — and lead humanity into The Gift World before the coming transformation. It worships the Calf, teaches the cosmology of The Cosmic Tree and The Eight Angels, and performs The Rite of Ascent.
Structure. The Herd is composed of preachers, who work out its theology and spread the word of the Calf, and priestesses, who provide spiritual services — Angelic Contact, Astral Projection, Telepathy Training — through Astral Spaceways Incorporated. It is funded by the theologian Michael Enlightened, by General Idols LLC, and by the revenues of Astral Spaceways.
History. In its life it has passed through several phases: a one-man revival (The First Attempt), a closed circle of adepts (The Second Attempt), and now an expanded congregation (The Announced Third Attempt).
