Tikkun Olam — "repair of the world" — is the Kabbalistic doctrine the Herd adapts to describe its own project. In the source teaching, God contracted to make room for creation and poured divine light into a vessel; the vessel broke, and sparks of light fell and were trapped in shards of matter called qliphoth. The work of spiritual life is to restore these scattered sparks to their source.
The Herd's adaptation. The Herd teaches that The Calf is itself now a broken vessel — a qliphotic husk bereft of light — and that the congregation's task is a Tikkun of the god: to restore its spark by waking The Eight Angels and circulating their light up The Cosmic Tree to the crown. The doctrine also carries the Herd's central condition: that the repair cannot be accomplished by an elite alone, but requires all of humanity — the theological basis of the expanded congregation. The Gift World is the Herd's name for the repaired reality.
